A4 Mounted/Framed Print -C2 Ceylon - Mk IV 'Female' Tank

This is my sketch of a Mk IV Tank of C Battalion The Tank Corps - Number C2 and named 'Ceylon' at the Battle of Cambrai 20th November 1917. A day etched in history as the Tank proved itself to herald a new generation of warfare, a day still celebrated today on that date by the serving soldiers and veterans of The Royal Tank Regiment.

Back then crews gave their tanks names, it could be simply a name clutched from the air with which the crew would identify with or maybe a sweethearts name at home in 'Blighty' maybe in the hope of bringing the crew good luck. The names became formalised and held by each Regiment and issued to tanks in the subsequent years. RTR vehicles today still carry some names born in WW1 while others are more modern.

This Tank being 'Female' was armed with five .303 Lewis guns and was conceived to be a 'close support anti infantry tank'.

If you would like the WW1 Tank Corps badge putting on the print, simply contact me once you've placed your order.

This signed print is supplied as a signed, A4 sized, mounted and framed product - shipped in a protective cardboard shipper. The frame has a high quality styrene glass sheet which will require the protective cello sheet removing before you hang the picture. The price stated includes UK 1st class postage.
