The High Mobility LoadCarrier - Stalwart, built by Alvis was a vehicle which earned the love of the men who crewed them. Armoured Regiments each had a Motor Transport (MT) Troop.
The Troop was the transport and resupply system for the Regiment. The unmistakable sound of the 'Stally's' engine was always welcomed by the Tank crews knowing that resupply was on it's way. A truly versatile vehicle which could pretty much go anywhere a tank can (or boat as they're amphibious). Sadly time became the enemy and reluctantly the Stalwarts were given up when superceded by a range of more 'modern' vehicles.
That said, many are in private hands and, are still a very popular vehicle with their owners.
