The Foden Steam Wagon built in 1917

I enjoyed sketching this machine as on initial glance, it doesn't appear to be as 'complicated' as the larger steam locomotives of this era. But, as you delve deeper it is in fact just as complicated but, on a smaller scale. This made for an interesting project trying to portray detail without turning it into a school standard 'Technical drawing'. Logistics in war is inevitably an important factor and in WW1 just transporting the vast quantities of artillery shells was a requirement. This was the earliest form of what today is called a lorry or truck. The vehicle pictured was converted to a vehicle with a 'tipper' capability which could carry 5 tons of material and saw service in France in WW1.

This signed print is supplied as a signed, A4 sized, mounted and framed product - shipped in a protective cardboard shipper. The frame has a high quality styrene glass sheet which will require the protective cello sheet removing before you hang the picture. The price stated includes UK 1st class postage.

If you live outside the UK and would like to place an order then please message me through the contact page and I'll be in touch with details as quickly as possible.
