Colouring Books
Unique Malcyart Tank Colouring book created for 5 to 11 year olds and all the family.
In 2023 I was commissioned to create a childrens colouring book for The Tank Museum based on the vehicles contained in their collection. It met with success and I hosted their childrens colouring workshop for them in the autumn half term. A fantastic day and amazing to watch the youngsters at work (play?) Interesting to see the difference between the very young and their abstract use of colour on the tanks then, to watch the older ones with a much greater level of concentration as they coloured for detail and effect. Even more fascinating to watch the grown ups, no mobile phones, no tablets simply engaging with the youngsters and joining in to help and advise. Oddly, many parents stayed to finish the picture when the youngsters disappeared with the other parent to explore the museum! Many adults commenting on how therapeutic the colouring in was!
That book gave me the idea that it might be fun to create my own colouring book aimed at 5 - 11 year olds. It's taken a year to create the book drawing 30 Tanks that I've selected through the years from the first tank to modern day. Each picture has a 'Fun Fact' about the vehicle and an 'Artists Tip' to help the person colouring the picture. There's even the odd little 'challenge' question to tickle the mind. The last two pictures are simply two of the drawings from the book without any words.
The paper is quite heavy 170gsm and ideal for coloured pencils or felt tip pens. But I'd suggets not quite heavy enough for watercolour paints. Either choose one and colour then perhaps frame? Or photocopy both and colour and frame? If you colour one and are very proud of your efforts why not email me a photo of yourself holding the picture? The cost of the book includes the post and packing as with all of my products. If the first book is a success, I'm sure others will follow and, I may even vary the subjects rather than just sticking to Tanks possibly make a special book just for adults on a heavier grade paper!
